Baby Dedication

Baby dedication is an opportunity for Calvary Church to join your family in prayer. Baby dedication differs from other traditions and is not for the purpose of infusing special graces into your child’s life. During the dedication, we pray for the following areas: 1) your commitment to God as parents, 2) your commitment to marriage God’s way (if married), and 3) for your child to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout their life.

Sanctuary Dedications

• Baby is twelve months old or younger on the date of dedication.
• Calvary Church is the family’s home church where they regularly attend services.
• Attendance at a Dedication Class must be completed (see below).
• Sanctuary dedications with Pastor Skip are scheduled 1 weekend a month during all 3 services: Saturday at 6:30 pm and Sunday during the 9 & 11 am services.
• You will be sent a link to download a High Definition video of your child’s dedication & Certificate of Dedication.

Private Dedications

• Baby is over twelve months old on the date of dedication.
• Calvary Church is the family’s home church where they regularly attend services.
• Attendance at a Dedication Class must be completed (see below).

The Baby Dedication Class is required for all dedications.

If the child’s parents have never had a child dedicated at Calvary Church, they must attend a Baby Dedication Class.

Class information:

• Class is for parents only. Children should be checked into Calvary Kids, starting at 9:10 am.
• Both parents must attend. Please bring your marriage certificate with you.
• If baby’s parents are not married: in addition to the Dedication Class, an appointment with an assistant pastor must be scheduled before arrangements may be made for a baby dedication.
• If only the mother attends Calvary Church: in addition to the Dedication Class, an appointment with an assistant pastor must be scheduled before arrangements may be made for a baby dedication.
• If only the father attends Calvary Church: in addition to the Dedication Class, an appointment with an assistant pastor must be scheduled before arrangements may be made for a baby dedication.
• If there are any questions about these policies, please ask for clarification during the Baby Dedication Class.
• Once the class has been completed and the forms are processed, parents will be advised of the next step.
• Please be aware that it may take several months to get your dedication on the schedule; an ideal time for parents to take the class is when their baby is six months old.
